Sip, Savor, and Socialize at Craft’s January Wine Social
If you’re living in or visiting Norfolk, there’s one event you won’t want to miss this January. Craft, your go-to spot for tacos, bowls, burgers, and unforgettable frozen margaritas, is kicking off the year with a Wine Social that promises to be as approachable as it is delightful.
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 15th, at 6pm. We’re pulling together some incredible wines from across the globe, pairing them with the casual, welcoming vibe Craft is known for. It’s not about swirling and sniffing like a sommelier (unless that’s your thing) – it’s about enjoying great wine, good company, and the cozy ambiance that makes Craft feel like home.
What’s On the Pour List
We’ve handpicked some amazing wines to make this evening special. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or just dipping your toes into the world of vino, there’s something here for everyone:
- Clos de Gaimont Vouvray 2022 (Loire Valley, France): Light yellow color with immediate citrus, green apple and something of minerals on the nose. The taste is soft, somewhat plump, but also with fine acidity and something of honey and apricots.
- Dr. Loosen ‘Erdener Treppchen’ Riesling Spatlese 2015 (Mosel, Germany): This vineyard is directly adjacent to the eastern side of the Prälat and is so steep that, centuries ago, stone steps were built into the hillside so that workers could reach the vines more easily. If the wines from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr seem like a graceful “ballerina,” those from the Treppchen resemble muscular free-style climbers. The iron-rich, red slate soil produces wines that are full-flavoured, racy and complex, with an intense mineral aftertaste.
- Cooper Hill ‘Organic’ Pinot Noir 2022 (Willamette Valley, Oregon): Delightful dark berry and pomegranate notes laced with earth and cola are dominant in this dry, but fruity, fresh and supple organic and biodynamic Pinot Noir.
- Cult Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 (Lodi, California): This is a well-made, nicely fruity and lightly spicy wine that’s medium-bodied and easy to drink.
Of course, if wine isn’t your thing, Craft’s full whiskey bar will be open, offering everything from timeless classics to bold new favorites.
Why Our Wine Social Is Different
Let’s be honest: Norfolk has its fair share of places to grab a drink, but Craft’s Wine Social is something special. It’s casual, it’s fun, and it’s a chance to meet people who share your love for a good glass of wine (or whiskey). No pretentious vibes here – just friendly faces and fantastic flavors.
Pair your tastings with a plate of tacos, a loaded burger, or one of our signature bowls. The food at Craft isn’t just an afterthought; it’s an experience all on its own.
Make It a Night to Remember
Craft isn’t just a place to eat and drink – it’s a destination. Whether you’re swinging by with friends, bringing a date, or just looking for a reason to get out of the house, this event is your perfect excuse.
So, what are you waiting for? Clear your schedule, gather your crew, and join us for an evening of great wine, great food, and even better vibes.
Cheers to Wine Socials and New Memories
We can’t wait to see you at Craft on January 15th. Don’t forget to show up thirsty, hungry, and ready for a good time. The Wine Social kicks off at 6pm, and we’ll be pouring, pairing, and celebrating the night away.
